The importance of water safety education cannot be overstated. It is essential for anyone who ventures into any kind of open water, including the Great Lakes. To ensure safety in and around the water, it is important to be aware of water currents and other potential hazards. The Great Lakes have a history of drownings, which is why being aware of the risks is so important. To learn more about water safety, there are many educational websites and videos available to help educate the public about how to stay safe in and around the water. With the right information, everyone can enjoy the Great Lakes while staying safe.

South Haven Ambassadors Program & Education has sponsored a water safety education presentation for South Haven Public Schools in an effort to spread awareness of the dangers of rip currents in the Great Lakes and best water safety practices.  If you would like to get this program into your schools reach out to Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project for pricing, scheduling, and curriculum.
